I Can't Believe I Didn't Know It Either

Scott Hanselman has this
tip
for users of PowerPoint:

When a slide is selected in PowerPoint (either in Normal or Slide
Sorter), while F5 will start the slide show at the FIRST slide, pressing
Shift-F5 will start the slide show at the CURRENTLY SELECTED slide
.

Oh. My. God. I know this isn't a big deal for some of you, but if you use PowerPoint
as much as most DM instructors do...

This is like finding out that your car has a "hover" button under the dashboard.

Thanks to John
Lam
 for the link.

  1. Oh, I didn't know it, either!
I previewed the slides from first slide and click and click and click
desperately to see the current slide.
Thank you for your giving worth information for me.
I can fly in the sky with my hovering car!!

  2. :)

    More PowerPoint tips for you:

    * When the slide show is running, type a slide number (e.g. 23) and hit return to jump to that slide.
    * Hit 'b' to turn the screen black
    * Hit 'w' to turn the screen white
    * Ctrl-P turns on the pen

  3. Ya, the slide number trick can truly change your life...I also started numbering my slides with the "insert slide number" dealie in the slide master, then I keep a list of numbered slides and just hop around as the class takes me, rather than doing the slides in order...Custom Slide Shows are also slick under "Set Up Show"
