Sony CDs Install a Rootkit on Your Machine

This is one of those "horrible, but sadly unsurprising" stories. I think Bruce Schneier has it right when he suggests that companies should be made liable for security vulnerabilities that they introduce into your system.

  1. Good god!!!

I will never let enhanced CD's even launch their garbage on my machine again. I wish these dinosaurs would just hurry up and go extinct.

From now on I plan to pirate any Sony crap that crosses my path, just on general principal.

    Arrr . . .

In fact, I'm going to join their BMG music club, get my 12 cds for a penny, then move to New Zealand without purchasing OR declining the selection-of-the-month.
